Winston-Salem, N.C - The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team's win streak moves to fourteen, defeating Virginia State University 65-52, inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
The Rams improved to (14-1, 5-0 CIAA) on the season.
Jakaiya Mack led the Rams with 16 points and nine rebounds, followed by
Makayla Waleed with 14 points, and
Breonna Roaf chipped in with 11 points.

The Rams went 23-of-26 from the field, 4-of-11 from three, and 17-of-27 from the free-throw line. The Rams grabbed 35 rebounds, scored 32 points in the paint, forced 26 turnovers, scored 20 points off turnovers, and had 15 steals.

In the first quarter, the Rams took a quick 8-2 lead on a
Nevaeh Farmer lay-up (6:37). The Trojans cut the lead to 9-6, on a jumper (5:39). WSSU went on a 9-0 run, extending their lead to 18-6 on a
Maia Charles (3:16). WSSU took a 20-11 lead into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, the Trojans cut the Rams' lead to 20-13 on two free throws (7:58). A
Breonna Roaf three-pointer gave the Rams a 23-13 lead (5:42).
Alana Biosse's three-pointer extended the Rams' lead to 30-19 (2:18). WSSU took a 30-20 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, a
Makayla Waleed lay-up extended the lead to 40-25 (6:13). VSU went on a 6-0 run, chipping the Rams' lead to 44-40 on a lay-up (0:51). WSSU took a 46-40 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, two
Makayla Waleed free-throws gave the Rams a 50-42 lead (8:07). VSU hit a three-pointer, cutting the score to 52-47.
Alana Biosse's three-pointer pushed the lead to 57-47 (5:07). A
Jakaiya Mack steal and lay-up made the score 62-49 (1:07). The Rams sealed the game at the free-throw line.
