Raleigh, N.C - The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team's win streak moves to fifteen, defeating Shaw University 64-54, inside the Spaulding Gymnasium.
The Rams improved to (15-1, 6-0 CIAA, 1-0 South) on the season.
Makayla Waleed led the Rams with 23 points and nine rebounds, followed by
Nevaeh Farmer and
Breonna Roaf chipping in with eight points each.

In the first quarter, the Rams took a 5-0 lead on a
Makayla Waleed lay-up (5:25). A
Nevaeh Farmer three-pointer extended the lead to 10-2 (2:30). WSSU took a 12-5 lead into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, Shaw cut the lead to 12-9 on a jumper (7:11). The Rams answered back with a 7-0 run, making the score 19-9 on a
Makayla Waleed three-pointer (5:23). The Bears went on a 11-0 run, taking a 20-19 lead on a lay-up (2:59). WSSU closed out the half on a 11-1 run, taking a 30-21 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter,
Ah'Kiyah Pye gave the Rams a 39-26 on a lay-up (5:59). Shaw went on a 9-2 run, cutting the Rams lead to 41-35 on a three-pointer (2:43). A
Jahmaria Miles free-throw extended the Rams lead to 45-35 (1:28). WSSU took a 47-38 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Rams took a 51-38 lead on a
Jakaiya Mack lay-up (9:10). A Shaw jumper cut the lead to 60-49 (4:35). The Bears hit a free-throw, cutting the deficit to 62-54 with 34 seconds remaining. Two
Breonna Roaf free-throws closed out the game 64-54 with 9 seconds remaining in the game.
