Box Score WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (13-11) could not stop a hard-hitting Shepherd (10-8) in a 14-3 loss in game two of a Tuesday afternoon doubleheader. The Lady Rams struggled on both sides of the plate in the loss, totaling just three hits while allowing 17 hits to their opponents.
As a team, the Lady Rams managed just three hits in the game. WSSU junior catcher Nikki Lynch highlighted the Lady Rams' effort with a one-for-three effort at the plate with a run scored and three RBI. She made the most of her one hit as she hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning of the game.
The Lady Rams allowed all 14 runs in the first three innings of the game with six first-inning runs allowed, followed by one second-inning run, and seven third-inning runs. It was in the fourth inning that Lynch would provide the answer for the Lady Rams with a three-run homer. However, the hit was all that the Lady Rams could muster in the tough loss.
