Men's Basketball

Postgame Quote from Wake Forest Exhibition

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team had a great showing with Wake Forest University falling 82-69 inside the Lawrence Joel Coliseum Tuesday night.

Quote from head coach Cleo Hill, Jr.
"First off, I'd like to thank Steve (Forbes), AD (John) Currie and Wake Forest for allowing us to play this game a second year in a row. Most of the time it's a one-off and they decided to do two years in a row. We don't know about three yet, but I thought it was great for the community. I thought it was great for the Wake Forest fan base and it was definitely great for the Winston-Salem State University fan base. You can see the student section there. There was a lot of excitement with our alumni on social media. So, I thank Wake Forest again for that opportunity. For myself, I thought we did some good things. For this group to be together since October 15th really practicing, I thought we did a great job in some areas. We out-rebounded them and we out-scored them in the second half. Steve (Forbes) does a great job. I saw him experiment a lot during the game. He did a lot of things that mixed us up towards the end of the game through the press, so that was good for us. I can only hope that we did a good job in helping them get prepared as they helped us get prepared."
