WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University indoor track and field team started its 22-23 campaign at the W-S College Kick-Off at the JDL Fast Track Lane.
Highlighted by
Kennedy Alexander finishing in first place in the high jump (1.68m, 5'6").
After qualifying in the 60m preliminaries,
Sadiyah McGregor came in second place with a time of 8.08.
Kelis Miller finished in fifth place (8.18),
Kyndall Barrow seventh (8.27),
Taniyah Oates in 11th (8.40), and
Aaliyah Dillard in 14th (8.47).
In the 200m,
Kelis Miller finished in 12th with a time of 27.15.
Kennedy Alexander finished in 15th (27.26).
Jaynissa Cauthen ran a time of 27.71, Jayla Warren (28.07), and
Taniyah Oates (28.29).
Kyla Houston ran a time of 1:03.23 to finish in 14th in the 400m and
Daijion Lee ran a time of 1:03.26.
Tinasia Davis came in sixth place running a time of 2:23.71,
Wynter Stample finished in seventh (2:33.15), Jaiyah Nelson (2:34.67), Zynobia Ugbong (2:50.17) in the 800m.
Vanessa Jones ran a time of 11:55.20 in the 3000m.
Daijion Lee,
Kyla Houston,
Sadiyah McGregor, and
Tinasia Davis ran the 4x400m relay finishing in fourth place with a time of 4:07.78.
Tionna Wilson finished in ninth in the long jump (5.11m, 16'9.25).
Nia Hester jumped 4.24m (13'11").
Jayla Warren finished in fourth place in the triple jump (11.19m, 36'8.5").
Tionna Wilson finished in 10th (35'9.25").
In the shot put,
Asia Lampe finished in eighth place (10.74m, 35'3"), and
Eriana Townes had marks of (9.63m 31'7.25").
The Rams are back in action next year, on January 14th traveling to New York, New York to participate in the HBCU Showcase.
