WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University women's indoor track and field team competed in two meets this weekend. Some of the Rams ran at the HBCU Showcase in New York, New York, while other members of the team competed at the Mondo College Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
How it Happened – HBCU Showcase
- Six student-athletes, Kelis Miller, Jaynissa Cauthen, Amique Willis, Erykah Baldwin, Kyndall Barrow, and Nia Hester all ran in the 200m finishing with times of 26.91, 27.71, 27.96, 28.20, 28.72, 31.49, respectively.
- Tinasia Davis finished with a time of 1:04.09 in the 400 meters run.
- Wynter Stample finished in 13th place in the 800m with a time of 2:39.24.
- The 4x200m relay team made of Erykah Baldwin, Kyndall Barrow, Jaynissa Cauthen, and Amique Willis finished in seventh place with a time of 1:48.75.
- Nia Hester had a mark of 4.76m (15'7.5") in the long jump and Erykah Baldwin finished with a mark of 4.18m (13'8.75").
- Asia Lampe finished in tenth place in the shot put with a mark of 10.53m (34'6.75").
How it Happened – Mondo College Invitational
- Ronee Tudor finished in first place in the 60m qualifying with a time of 7.79 then later finished in seventh place in the finals with a time of 7.89.
- Sadiyah McGregor finished in fourth place (7.99) in the 60m qualifying, Taniyah Oates ran a time of 8.29, Maeghan Wallace ran a time of 8.49 and Nykaya Ebron ran a time of 8.83.
- Sadiyah McGregor also finished in fourth place in the 200m with a time of 26.47. Ronee Tudor ran a time of 26.74, while Taniyah Oates ran a time of 27.91, Aa;iyah Dillard ran a time of 29.51 and Carrington Wise-Smith ran a time of 29.95.
- Daijion Lee finished in first place in the 400m with a time of 1:00.46. Janiyah Ross came in eighth place with a time of 1:03.69. I'Sheondra Powell ran a time of 1:05.30, Jaiyah Nelson ran a time of 1:07.25 and Imani Tatum finished with a time of 1:09.22.
- The 4x400 relay team (I'Sheondra Powell, Daijion Lee, Jaiyah Nelson and Janiyah Ross) came in seventh place with a time of 4:20.64.
- Kennedy Alexander finished in second place in the high jump with a mark of 1.67m (5'5.75"). Janiyah Ross finished with a mark of 1.42m (4'7.75").
- Tionna Wilson came in second place in the triple jump finishing with a mark of 11.10m (36'5"). Jayla Warren finished in fifth place with a mark of 10.82m (35'6").
- Eriana Townes threw a mark of 9.54m (31'3.75") in the shot put.
