Indoor Track and Field Stay local Competing in the COROS Collegiate Challenge

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –The Winston-Salem State University Women's track and field team will stay in Winston-Salem this weekend to compete in the COROS Collegiate Challenge at the JDL Fast Track.

The Rams competed in two separate meets on January 14th. Some of the athletes competed at the HBCU Showcase in New York, while others stayed local and competed in the Mondo College Invitational.
Key things to note, new PR's were set at the HBCU showcase and Ronne Tudor finished in first place in the 60m qualifying at the Mondo Invite.

Athletes of the Week
  • Ronee Tudor and Kenndey Alexander swept the CIAA Food Lion Weekly Awards for week four. To read the whole story click Here
  • Kennedy Alexander was named the CIAA Food Lion Women's Field Athlete of the Week for week one. She placed first in the JDL Early Bird Invitational with an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark of 1.68 (5'6") meters. The senior also posted a time of 26.85 in the 200-meter dash.

The Rams will be back in action competing at the VMI-Winter Relays hosted by Virginia Military Institute on January 27th in Lexington, Virginia.
