CHARLOTTE, N.C.  – Kamryn Kirby from the Winston-Salem State University softball team has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.

The Winston-Salem native, playing in center field for the Rams, Kam totaled 12 put-outs and three assists defensively for the Rams. She helped the team finish 6-2 for the week, including going 4-2 during the CIAA roundup. Offensively, she also totaled four runs, one double and an RBI.

Kirby and the Rams will be back in action on Friday, March 31st hosting Johnson C. Smith University for senior day. The doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m.
