CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Aniyah Jackson from the Winston-Salem State University softball team has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Rookie of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

The West End, North Carolina native had a great week for the Rams helping them sweep St. Augustine's with an 18-2 and 15-2 victory. In game one she went 3-for-3 with one triple and five RBIs. In game two, she went 1-for-4 with a triple, RBI and three runs scored.

Other award winners include Bowie State's Aseyah Alexander and Lindsey George as Offensive Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, and Virginia State's Maisie Spivey as Defensive Player of the Week.

Jackson and the Rams will wrap up the regular season at Claflin on Friday, April 28th. The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
