The Winston-Salem State women's cross country team turned in a solid showing at the Pfeiffer University Cross Country Invitational, placing sixth overall with 112 points. The Rams demonstrated depth across their lineup, with all five scorers finishing inside the top 40.
Freshman Ava Millner led the way with a standout performance, placing sixth overall in 20:08.0. Junior Elicia Bryant followed as WSSU's second scorer, crossing the line in 22:31.3 for 20th place. Fellow junior Rainn Sheppard wasn't far behind, finishing 25th with a time of 22:52.4.
Rounding out the Rams' top five were freshman Leigh Wills (26th, 23:17.8) and sophomore Simone Kelly (35th, 24:38.6), helping secure the team's sixth-place finish with a combined time of 1:53:28.
The Rams will be back in action at the Blue Bear Invitational hosted by Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina on September 19th.
