PETERSBURG, Va. – The Winston-Salem State University women's outdoor track and field team has gone back-to-back winning the 2026 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) title.
The Rams scored 130 points to earn the victory. Claflin finished in second place with 125.42 points and Fayetteville came in third place with 102.26 points.
Charnessa Reid came in second place with a time of 14.09 in the 100m hurdles and
Layla Simpson finished in sixth place with a time of 14.80.
Asheika Smith finished third place in the 400m with a time of 55.77,
Olivia Cosby came in fourth (56.82) and
Leigh Wills finished in eighth (1:00.02).
Brianna Benloss came in third place with a time of 11.97 in the 100m.
Rainn Sheppard captured first place in the 800m with a time of 2:09.75.
Ava Millner finished in fifth place and
Elicia Bryant came in sixth place with times of 2:18.15 and 2:18.82, respectively.
Jaynissa Cauthen finished second place in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:02.31.
Brianna Benloss came in fifth place in the 200m with a season-best time of 24.81.
Elicia Bryant finished in seventh place (20:13.83),
Ava Millner came in eighth place (20:29.02) and
Kayla Nobles finished in 12th (21:50.98).
The quartet of

Jaynissa Cauthen and
Asheika Smith captured second place in the 4x400 relay with a time of 47.07.
Trinity Brooks came in fourth place in the triple jump with a mark of 11.42m and
Layla Simpson came in seventh place (11.03m).
Lanyjah Gunter finished in 12th place with a mark of 10.89m.
Leila Henderson captured second place in the discus (43,40m),
Kaylee Thomas came in seventh place (38.01m),
Zion Cosby came in 14th place (33.64m), and
Alaina Moody finished in 15th place (32.79m).
Charnessa Reid came in fourth place in the high jump (1.55m),
Layla Simpson finished in 14th place (1.50m), and
Trinity Brooks came in 15th place (1.45m).
Maeghan Wallace finished in eighth place in the javelin with a mark of 30.16m,
Terrya Montgomery came in 11th (27.71m) and
Alaina Moody came in 17th (25.34m).
Lanyjah Gunter captured first place in the long jump with a mark of 5.93m,
Charnessa Reid came in second (5.93m) and
Trinity Brooks finished in sixth (5.55m).
Leila Henderson finished in eighth place in the shot put (12.21m),
Kaylee Thomas came in 11th (11.82m),
Maeghan Wallace came in 13th (11.57m) and
Jazmin Terry finished 19th (10.57m).
