Mount Olive, N.C. – To prepare for NCAA's, the Winston-Salem State University outdoor track and field team competed in one last meet to qualify for nationals at the Mount Olive First Chance Qualifier Meet.
Charnessa Reid finished in first place in the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.70.
Jaynissa Cauthen finished in first place in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:01.51.
Rainn Sheppard finished first in the 800 with a time of 2:09.41 and
Elicia Bryant came in second place with a time of 2:16.46.
The 4x400 relay team made up of
Rainn Sheppard,
Asheika Smith,
Leigh Wills and
Olivia Cosby finished in second place with a time of 3:45.53.
On the field side,
Trinity Brooks captured first in the long jump with a mark of 5.87m.
Charnessa Reid came in third with a mark of 5.49m.
Leila Henderson came in first place in the discus toss with a mark of 46.71m.
After the two-day meet, the Rams will find out on Tuesday, May 12 who qualifies for nationals later this month in Kansas.
