NEW ORLEANS - All Region honors for the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season.
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.
Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
Kennedy Alexander from the Winston-Salem State University women's outdoor track and field team was among those student-athletes chosen.
The Charlotte, North Carolina native also was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year. She captured her fourth consecutive high jump title with a mark of 1.65m. She finished with three top-five finishes in the high jump. She finished fourth in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.63m (5'4.25") at the Vertklasse Meeting. At the Trojan relays, she finished second in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.66m (5'5.25"). During the Aggie classic, she finished third in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.60m (5'3"). She was field athlete of the week for week five after her efforts at the Trojan relays.
This season,
Alexander also earned All-Region honors for the indoor season.
