C.E. "Big House" Gaines Hall of Fame
Bennie Barbour, Sr. is honored as an outstanding football player. He began his career in 1971 and led a defense that helped Winston-Salem State University capture its first championship in football. He earned All-CIAA honors in 1972, 1973, and 1974. As a defensive anchor, he was known for his tenacious drive and determination. He ranks as one of the all-time sack leaders in Winston-Salem State University history. He currently resides in Smithfield, North Carolina.
