Troy Davis is honored for his dynamic efforts on the gridiron for the Rams. He was a four-year member of the team from 1947-50. During his career, Davis gave a great effort on the field for the Rams. He was the team’s leading scorer all four seasons of his career. For his efforts, he earned All-CIAA honorable mention honors in 1948 and was named team MVP both in 1948 and in 1949. He earned Player of the Week honors from the Winston-Salem Touchdown Club after scoring three touchdowns against Virginia Union during the 1949 season. For his efforts and leadership abilities, he was named team captain during the 1949 and 1950 seasons. He went on to graduate from Winston-Salem State in the spring of 1951.
