C.E. "Big House" Gaines Hall of Fame
The lightning fast but diminutive Clarence “Jeep” Jones is inducted into the WSSU C.E. “Big House” Gaines Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding accomplishments as a basketball student athletes. Playing for the legendary Clarence “Big House” Gaines. Following a stellar career basketball career at WSSU Jones went on to become the first black Deputy Mayor of the City of Boston and has the honor of having a park named after him (Jeep Jones Park) as well as having a room named after him at Boston’s first black-owned hotel.
