Inducted into the WSSU C.E. “Big House” Gaines Athletic Hall of Fame for a stellar career with the WSSU wrestling team, Rawls was a two-time CIAA wrestling champion and won the NCAA Division II Championship in the 118 pound division. He compiled a record of 24 wins with only two defeats.  He earned a spot on the 1994 Olympic Festival Wrestling team as well.
