Alexander was a big-time safety for the Rams, playing on the 1999 CIAA Championship team. He was a two-time All-CIAA in 1998 and 1999. The four-year letterman was also the captain of the team. He was named the All-Rookie Ram in 1996 and led the CIAA in tackles in 1998-1999. He was named All-Region and Preseason All- American. He was also a 1999 Pioneer Bowl Champion. He graduated in 2000 with a degree in sports management and is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
