Harrison Junior Stokes is enshrined in the Winston-Salem State University Clarence E. “Big House” Gaines Athletic Hall of Fame following a great career with Rams football. He earned numerous individual honors as a linebacker for the Rams. He earned All-NAIA District 26 honors and was a recipient of the Anthony Oats Memorial Award for the most outstanding linebacker in 1982. He also earned All-CIAA honors in 1981 and 1982 in addition to being named team co-captain both as a junior and as a senior. He went on to sign a free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Winston-Salem State University in 1982 he went on to serve the community as a Sergeant in the patrol division of the Forsyth County Sherriff’s Office for 22 years.   He and his wife Paulette are the proud parents of two children Adrian and Alexander.
