Marshall Thomas Emery was a two sport star at Winston State University. He was a member of the 1953 championship basketball team and also a member of the track team where he ran the third leg on the dream mile relay team that was undefeated for three consecutive years in basketball Marshall, distinguished himself as one of basketball‘s most innovative coaches he served as a Head Coach at Howard university, Delaware State University, and Norfolk State. having an extensive international experience, servant as a coach and clinician, Marshall was named the coach of the year in 1971 and 1978. Marshall Emery passed away on June 22, 2006.
